Pembelajaran Keterampilan Berbicara Materi Biografi melalui Proyek Podcast

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low speaking skills of students due to the lack of speaking skill development in the classroom. Therefore, podcasts were chosen as an innovative strategy for their potential to train students to speak actively and creatively. The aim of this study is to describe the planning, implementation, and results of learning speaking skills through a biographical podcast project for Grade X students at SMA Ahmad Yani 2 Baureno. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with documentation, observation, and testing techniques. The results show that (1) the teaching module was systematically designed with complete components based on student needs, (2) the implementation ran optimally with observation scores of 91% for teacher activities and 86.3% for student activities, categorized as Excellent, and (3) 33 out of 34 students achieved scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC), with a 90.01% success rate. Thus, the podcast project effectively improves students’ speaking ability, confidence, and collaboration skills.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa akibat kurangnya pengembangan keterampilan berbicara di kelas sehingga podcast dipilih sebagai strategi inovatif karena potensinya dalam melatih siswa berbicara aktif dan kreatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan perencanaan, penerapan, dan hasil pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara materi biografi melalui proyek podcast pada siswa kelas X SMA Ahmad Yani 2 Baureno. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) perencanaan berupa modul ajar disusun sistematis dengan komponen lengkap berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa, (2) penerapan berjalan maksimal dengan presentase hasil observasi aktivitas guru 91 dan siswa 86,3 yang masuk dalam kategori Sangat Baik dan (3) hasil belajar siswa menunjukan 33 dari 34 siswa mencapai nilai di atas KKM dengan presentase ketuntasan 90,01 dan kategori Sangat Baik. Dengan demikian, proyek podcast terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara, kepercayaan diri, dan kemampuan kolaborasi siswa. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, diharapakan guru dapat terus mengembangkan podcast sebagai alternatif pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara yang inovatif dan menyenangkan, serta peneliti selanjutnya dapat menerapkan proyek podcast pada materi lain seperti eksposisi, pidato, atau cerita inspiratif.
