ABSTRACT: The objectives of this study are divided into three. First, the use of the cooperative method of the make a match type of linear equation system of two variables for class VIII MTs Mujahidin Pontianak; Second, the learning achievement of mathematics on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables after applying the cooperative method of the make a match type to class VIII students of MTs Mujahidin Pontianak; Third, the significant influence of the use of the cooperative method of the make a match type on the learning achievement of mathematics on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables for class VIII students of MTs Mujahidin Pontianak. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental research type (quasi-experimental), while the design used in this study is Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sampling technique is a cluster sampling technique, so the sample of this study is class VIII A 15 students in the control class and class VIII B 15 students in the experimental class. The results of the data analysis obtained are known as the results of the independent t-test, the significance value is 0.000 <0.05. So, H_0 is rejected H_1 is accepted, this shows that there is an influence of the use of the cooperative method of the make a match type of material on the system of linear equations of two variables on the learning achievement of class VIII students of MTs Mujahidin Pontianak. ABSTRAK: Tujuan Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi tiga. Pertama, penggunaan metode kooperatif tipe make a match sistem persamaan linear dua variabel kelas VIII MTs Mujahidin Pontianak; Kedua, prestasi belajar matematika materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel setelah menerapkan metode kooperatif tipe make a match pada peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Mujahidin Pontianak; Ketiga, pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan metode kooperatif tipe make a match terhadap prestasi belajar matematika materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel pada peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Mujahidin Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatakan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimental (eksperimen semu), adapun desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu teknik cluster sampling, maka sampel penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII A 15 peserta didik kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII B 15 peserta didik kelas eksperimen. Hasil analisis data yang di dapat diketahui hasil dari uji independet t-test, nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Maka, H_0 ditolak H_1 diterima, hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan metode kooperatif tipe make a match materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Mujahidin Pontianak.
