However, the coverage in Indonesia remains low (approximately 52%). One of the obstacles is insufficient breast milk production in postpartum mothers, particularly those who have undergone cesarean sections. Oxytocin massage stimulates the release of the hormone oxytocin, which plays a role in the let-down reflex, while Oketani massage can increase breast tissue elasticity and help facilitate milk expression. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of Oketani massage and oxytocin massage in promoting breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group. A total of 40 postpartum mothers were selected using consecutive sampling and divided into two intervention groups: Oketani massage and oxytocin massage. Each intervention was performed once for 10–15 minutes. Breast milk output was observed within 24 hours after the massage. Results: The study showed that 75% of mothers in the Oketani group experienced smooth breast milk flow, compared to only 40% in the oxytocin group. The Mann-Whitney test yielded a p-value of 0.027, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: Oketani massage is more effective in facilitating breast milk production and can be recommended as a non-pharmacological intervention for postpartum mothers.
