<![CDATA[The main problem in this study is that students experience difficulties in pronouncing words correctly, making the messages they convey difficult for listeners to understand. In addition, the students have a limited vocabulary, which causes them to frequently repeat the same words and struggle to express ideas in a coherent manner. Improper use of intonation also contributes to the students’ low speaking skills. One of the contributing factors is the lack of learning media that encourage students to actively speak. This study aims to determine the improvement in speaking skills through the use of the mystery box media among fifth-grade students of UPT SD Inpres Pare'-Pare'. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, with each cycle comprising four meetings. The research procedure includes planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 22 fifth-grade students of UPT SD Inpres Pare'-Pare'. The results showed that in the first cycle, 10 students (45%) met the minimum passing criteria (KKM) with an average score of 57. In the second cycle, 19 students (86%) met the KKM with an average score of 80. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of the mystery box media can improve the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at UPT SD Inpres Pare'-Pare'.]]>
