This study was motivated by the low writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung in composing descriptive texts, as indicated by limited vocabulary mastery, difficulties in developing ideas, and inadequate understanding of the structure and linguistic features of descriptive texts. This research aimed to describe the effect of the Picture and Picture learning model assisted by audio-visual media on students’ descriptive text writing skills. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a Posttest-Only Control Design. The sample consisted of 53 students, including 28 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. The data were in the form of descriptive text writing scores obtained without and with the implementation of the Picture and Picture model assisted by audio-visual media. The results showed that the mean score of the control class was 80.00 (Good category), while the experimental class achieved a mean score of 90.66 (Very Good category). The t-test result indicated that tcount > ttable (5.31 > 1.67), meaning that H1 was accepted. Therefore, the Picture and Picture learning model assisted by audio-visual media had a significant effect on students’ descriptive text writing skills
