Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe of cognitive learning competense and to know the increasing in students' cognitive learning through the application of the Predict-Observe Explain learning model and conventional learning in momentum and impuls material. The research method used is quasy experiment with the design of Control Group Design Pretest-Posttest. The population is all students of class X MIA SMAN 1 Kampar Timur. Samples of two classes were selected by random sampling, obtained by class X MIA 4 consist to 37 people as the experimental class and class X MIA 3 consist to 37 people as the control class. Data have colecte use cognitive test instrument. Data were analyzed descriptively by looking at the results of differences in the increase in cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental and control class students then analyzed inferentially by using the T-test. The results showed that there were differences in the increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes in momentum and impulse material in class X MIA SMAN 1 Kampar Timur. The average cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class students were higher than the control class. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the Predict-Observe-Explain learning model can improve cognitive learning outcomes in the material momentum and impulses of class X MIA SMAN 1 Kampar Timur.Key Words: Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Predict-Observe-Explain, Momentum andImpulses

Abstract

The training activity of scientific writing for students of SMA Negeri 7 Padang has been carried out. The low interest and skills of students in writing a good and interesting scientific work is caused by the lack of students' knowledge of title writing, problem formulation, discussion writing, closing and bibliography writing, systematic writing of scientific papers, and linguistic rules in scientific works. The solution offered to these problems is to provide assistance in the form of providing motivation to increase interest in writing scientific papers. Scientific works can be written as the result of research or literature review. The training method is an activity filled with lectures, presentations, discussions, and mentoring of participants. Participants responded positively to the activity by showing enthusiasm during the activity and increasing participants' understanding of scientific writing. This activity can increase students' interest and skills in writing scientific papers.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' critical reading skills, how they can write scientific papers, and how critical reading relates to students' ability to write scientific papers in class XI at SMK Negeri 6 Padang. Because these two skills are fundamental to master, this quantitative research uses a correlation approach. The population of this research is students in class XI at SMK Negeri 6 Padang who are registered in 2023/2024. The sample in this research was class XI students, totaling 31 people. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire and the data analysis carried out is correlation analysis between variables. The results of this research are first, the reading habits of the class secondly, the scientific work writing skills of the class third, there is a significant relationship between reading skills and scientific writing skills of class XI students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang. Based on these conclusions, teachers who teach Indonesian language subjects must be more innovative in improving students' reading and writing skills at SMK Negeri 6 Padang

Abstract

This research is motivated by the following problems. First, students do not understand the content of short stories whose language is too high so they have difficulty reading short stories. Second, students have difficulty understanding the material because sometimes teachers explain the material too quickly and concisely. This research aims to describe the differences in the use of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize, Test) method and the PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) method on the short story reading skills of class XI students at Semen Padang High School.This type of research is quantitative research using experimental methods. The design of this research is one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study were all class XI students of Semen Padang High School. The sample in this research was 27 class XI students of Semen Padang High School. The data in this study are scores using the PQRST method for class XI students at Semen Padang High School and scores using the PQ4R method (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) for class XI high school students Semen Padang.The results of this research can be concluded as follows. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan kebiasaan membaca dengan kemampuan menulis teks persuasi siswa kelas VIII MTsN 13 Pesisir Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTsN 13 Pesisir Selatan. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini di ambil 60% dari total populasi maka sampel penelitian berjumlah 53 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket dan tes unjuk kerja. Angket digunakan untuk mengumpulkan skor kebiasaan membaca siswa sedangkan tes unjuk kerja digunakan untuk mengumpulkan skor kemampuan menulis teks persuasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut: Pertama, kebiasaan membaca siswa kelas VIII MTsN 13 Pesisir Selatan diperoleh nilai rata-rata hitung 59,42 berada pada rentangan 56-65% pada skala 10, dengan kualifikasi sedang (S). Kedua, ketrampilan menulis teks persuasi siswa kelas VIII MTsN 13 Pesisir Selatan diperoleh nilai rata-rata hitung 71,06 berada pada rentangan 66-75% pada skala 10, dengan kualifikasi cukup (C). Ketiga, uji-t, H1 diterima pada taraf signifikan 95% dan derajat kebebasan (dk) = n-1 karena thitung>ttabel (2,93 1,70). Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pengujian yang membuktikan bahwa thitung> dari ttabel yaitu 2,93 1,70. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Kebiasaan Membaca dengan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Persuasi Siswa Kelas VIII MTsN 13 Pesisir Selatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh: Pertama, kurang minatnya siswa dalam menulis cerita pendek, disebabkan siswa lebih tertarik menonton jika materi pembelajaran dalam bentuk vidio bukan bentuk tulisan. Kedua, masih kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru dalam menjelaskan materi terutama cerita pendek, sehingga siswa kesulitan dalam mengembangkan ide dan gagasan dalam menulis cerita pendek. Ketiga, kesulitan siswa dalam menulis cerita pendek terdapat pada penyusunan ide dan gagasan menjadi sebuah cerita. Keempat, Kesulitan siswa timbul disaat ingin melanjutkan cerita ke paragraf selanjutnya. Kelima, kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap unsur intrinsik cerita pendek. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ekperimen. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes unjuk kerja siswa sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu 50 orang siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Mudik Riau. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah test unjuk kerja. teknik analisis data dengan memeriksa cerita pendek yang sesuai indikator, menentukan persentase data,mengklasifikasikan data dan memberikan penafsiran data berdasarkanhasil statistik dan teori. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Mudik Riau tanpa menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan media audiovisual memperoleh nilai rata-rata 54,66 yang berkualifikasi Hampir Cukup dengan tingkat penguasaan 45-55%. Kedua, kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas Xi SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Mudik Riau dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan media audiovisual.
