Abstract

Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik kepemimpinankepala sekolah dasar dalam latar budaya masyarakat Pendalungan, (2) mendeskripsikannilainilaiyang diterapkan oleh sekolah dalam budaya masyarakat Pendalungan, (3) menemukenalimodel peningkatan profesionalisme guru yang dilakukan kepala sekolah dasar dalam latarbudaya masyarakat Pendalungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif denganjenis penelitian fenomenologis sosiologis.Sumber data terdiri dari dua macam, yaitu insani(kepala sekolah, guru dan siswa) dan non insani (literatur dan bahan cetakan yang relevan).Teknikpengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi.Analisisdata dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah (1)Kepemimpinankepala sekolah bersifat terbuka, bijaksana dan berwibawa terutama dalam pengambilankeputusan dengan kebijakan yang dibuat dengan melibatkan seluruh guru, (2) nilai-nilai yangditerapkan oleh sekolah berdasarkan nilai budaya masyarakat Pendalungan dan nilai-nilaiIslam, dan (3) pengembangan profesionalisme guru dalam rangka peningkatan kemampuanpersonel sekolah melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya dilakukan dalam berbagai teknik.Kata kunci: kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, profesionalisme guru, budaya PendalunganAbtract: This study aims to (1) describe the characteristics of the leadership of schoolprincipals in the background of Pendalungan culture, (2) describe the values applied by thePendalungan culture, (3) identify the model of improving the professionalism of elementaryschool teacher conducted by principal in the background of Pendalungan culture. Thisstudy used a qualitative approach, sociological phenomenological research. The data sourceconsists of two kinds, human source (principals, teachers, and students), and non-humansource (literature and relevant printed materials). The technique of collecting data usinginterviews, observation and documentation. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitativemethod. The results of the study are (1) the principal’s leadership is open, thoughtful andauthoritative, especially in decision-making with the policies made by involving all teachers,(2) the values adopted by the school based on the value of culture Pendalungan and Islamicvalues, and (3) professional development of teachers in order to improve the ability of schoolpersonnel carry out their duties and functions performed in various techniquesKeyword: the leadership of school principals, he professionalism of teacher, Pendalunganculture
