Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam mengelola emosi akitbat ketidakmampuan mengekspresikan perasaan secara terbuka yang menyebabkan penumpukan tekanan emosional dan konflik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan mengelola emosi siswa melalui penerapan layanan konseling individu dengan teknik assertive training. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Bimbingan Konseling (PTBK) dengan dua siklus, masing-masing mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah satu siswa yang mengalami kesulitan pengelolaan emosi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan kemampuan mengelola emosi konseli. Pada siklus I, tingkat kemampuan mengelola emosi siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Setelah siklus II, kemampuan tersebut mengalami peningkatan menjadi kategori tinggi. Hal tersebut menandakan efektifitas teknik assertive training dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengelola emosi siswa khususnya individu yang kesulitan mengungkapkan perasaan secara terbuka, sehingga dapat diterapkan sebagai intervensi optimal dalam layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling. Abstract This research is motivated by students' difficulties in managing emotions and the inability to express their feelings openly which leads to the accumulation of emotional pressure and conflict. The purpose of this research is to improve students' ability to manage emotions through the application of individual counseling services with assertive training techniques. The method in this study uses Counseling Guidance Action Research (PTBK) with two cycles, each including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject in this study was one student who experienced difficulty managing emotions. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the ability to manage counselors' emotions. In the first cycle, the level of students' ability to manage emotions is in the medium category. After cycle II, this ability has increased to the high category. This indicates the effectiveness of assertive training techniques in improving the ability to manage students' emotions, especially individuals who have difficulty expressing their feelings openly, so that they can be applied as an optimal intervention in Guidance and Counseling services.
