Listening skills are essential for elementary school students because they support the acquisition of information and the development of other language skills. However, preliminary observations at SD Kemala Bhayangkari Makassar indicated that students experienced difficulties in listening comprehension due to limited learning media and insufficient variation in instructional strategies. This study aimed to improve the listening skills of fourth-grade students through the use of podcast media. The research employed Classroom Action Research consisting of two cycles, each including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 19 fourth-grade students and one classroom teacher. Data were collected through observation, listening achievement tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques by calculating activity percentages and learning mastery levels. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ listening skills. Learning mastery increased from 68.42% in Cycle I to 84.21% in Cycle II. Teacher and student learning activities also improved from the fair category to the good category. These findings indicate that podcasts can serve as effective audio-based learning media for enhancing students’ listening skills. Future studies may explore the integration of podcasts with other digital learning platforms.
