Abstract

Abstract The lack of disciplinary character among elementary school students remains a significant issue, particularly in terms of time management, rule compliance, and responsibility. One potential strategy to address this problem is through prayer habituation as part of character education based on religious values. This study aims to analyze the implementation of prayer habituation in shaping students’ disciplinary character at SD Sunan Giri Ngebruk, Malang Regency. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects include the principal, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that prayer habituation is systematically implemented through routine activities integrated into the school culture. This process facilitates the internalization of discipline values from external compliance to internal awareness. The impacts include improvements in time discipline, rule compliance, responsibility, and students’ self-regulation. Thus, prayer habituation is effective in shaping students’ disciplinary character in a sustainable manner. Keywords: prayer habituation, discipline character, elementary students, character education, Islamic education Abstrak Rendahnya karakter disiplin siswa sekolah dasar masih menjadi permasalahan dalam pendidikan, terutama dalam aspek ketepatan waktu, kepatuhan terhadap aturan, dan tanggung jawab. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah melalui habituasi ibadah shalat sebagai bagian dari pembentukan karakter berbasis nilai religius. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi habituasi ibadah shalat dalam pembentukan karakter disiplin siswa di SD Sunan Giri Ngebruk Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa habituasi ibadah shalat dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui kegiatan rutin yang terintegrasi dalam budaya sekolah. Proses ini mampu menginternalisasikan nilai disiplin dari kepatuhan menuju kesadaran diri. Dampaknya terlihat pada peningkatan disiplin waktu, kepatuhan terhadap aturan, tanggung jawab, dan kemampuan regulasi diri siswa. Dengan demikian, habituasi ibadah shalat efektif dalam membentuk karakter disiplin siswa secara berkelanjutan.
