Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has driven significant transformations in vocational education learning systems, including at the Jayapura Civil Aviation Polytechnic. This study aims to analyze the utilization of learning media and educational technology by students of the Airport Management Study Program and the Airport Electrical Engineering Study Program as a basis for developing more adaptive and contextual learning media. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method with a dichotomous-scale questionnaire distributed to 194 students from both study programs. The data were analyzed to identify students’ satisfaction levels, perceived benefits, and needs related to the learning media used. The results indicate that students have utilized various learning media, both conventional and digital, such as PowerPoint, e-modules, learning videos, podcasts, and Virtual Reality (VR), with varying levels of effectiveness across courses. The main findings reveal a strong need for the development of interactive digital learning media, particularly instructional videos, application-based simulations, interactive e-modules, and VR-based media that support practical learning and independent study. The implementation of digital learning media has been shown to enhance conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and student engagement in vocational learning processes. This study highlights the strategic role of Learning Technology Developers (Pengembang Teknologi Pembelajaran/PTP) in designing, developing, and evaluating technology-based learning media to improve learning quality and enhance graduates’ readiness to meet the demands of the aviation industry.
