This study aims to determine the differences and improvements in students' critical thinking skills in the subject of science through the application of the STM approach with the PjBL model with conventional learning. The type of research used is quantitative with the Quasi Experimental method and the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population included all fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Parungkamal, with a total sampling technique, where class VA was designated as the experimental class and class VB as the control class. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and tests. Data analysis was carried out using the Independent Sample T-Test and Paired Sample T-Test. The results of the study indicate differences in critical thinking skills between students in the experimental and control classes, indicated by the Tcount value > Ttable (3.893 > 2.021). In addition, there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class after the application of the STM approach with the PjBL model, with the Tcount value > Ttable (30.543 > 1.725). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the STM approach with the PjBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in the subject of science.
