This study is motivated by the low level of coordination ability among elementary school students, as indicated by poor movement integration, weak coordination between the eyes and body parts, and slow responses to movement stimuli. This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of the Malay traditional game Galah Panjang on the coordination ability of fifth-grade students at SD Al Washliyah 83 Gunting Saga. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 56 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using coordination ability tests covering hand-eye coordination, foot-eye coordination, body balance, and reaction speed, and were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ coordination ability after the implementation of the Galah Panjang game, as indicated by the differences between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Malay traditional game Galah Panjang has a significant effect on improving students’ coordination ability. In addition, this traditional game can be utilized as an effective and engaging alternative learning method in physical education at the elementary school level.
