Digital transformation in primary education requires principals to exercise digital leadership that can align vision, communication, competency development, modelling, and collaboration with teachers’ professional needs. This study aimed to describe principals’ digital leadership, describe elementary school teachers’ work motivation, and examine the influence of digital leadership on teachers’ work motivation in supporting learning innovation in Pitumpanua District, Wajo Regency. The research used a quantitative explanatory design with a census technique involving 34 elementary school teachers from Cluster I. Data were collected using two closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaires consisting of digital leadership and teacher work motivation instruments. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, normality testing, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results showed that principals’ digital leadership was in the very good category with a total score of 1,460, while teacher work motivation was also in the very good category with a total score of 1,459. Digital leadership had a positive and significant effect on teacher work motivation, as indicated by r = 0.733, R² = 0.537, t = 6.092, p < 0.05, and the regression equation Y = 16.295 + 0.620X. These findings indicate that stronger digital leadership contributes to higher teacher motivation and provides a practical basis for strengthening school-level digital innovation.
