Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning at the elementary school level requires appropriate learning media to help students understand abstract concepts. However, the learning media commonly used in classrooms remain predominantly conventional, making them less effective in attracting students' interest and facilitating a deeper understanding of concepts. One topic that particularly requires effective visualization is the human circulatory system, as it involves concepts that cannot be directly observed. Therefore, the development of an Augmented Reality-based learning media assisted by Assemblr EDU was proposed as an alternative to support the teaching and learning process. This study aimed to develop and validate an Augmented Reality-based learning media assisted by Assemblr EDU for the human circulatory system topic in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) for fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which was limited to the Development stage, including the Analysis, Design, and Development phases. The validity of the developed media was evaluated by three experts consisting of a subject matter expert, a media expert, and a language expert using validation sheets. The results showed that the learning media achieved validity scores of 92% from the subject matter expert, 94% from the media expert, and 98% from the language expert, all of which were categorized as highly valid. These findings indicate that the developed learning media met the required standards in terms of content, presentation, visual design, and language, making it suitable for use as a learning medium for the human circulatory system topic in fifth-grade elementary Science and Social Studies (IPAS) classrooms.
