<![CDATA[The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into primary education offers opportunities to develop more interactive and meaningful learning, yet its application in Civic Education (PPKn) for strengthening students’ civic character remains relatively underexplored, particularly in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of AI-based PPKn learning and its contribution to strengthening the civic character of Grade VI students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Nurul Wathan NW Pelambik. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed from February to April 2026. The participants consisted of 30 Grade VI students, PPKn teachers, and the principal as a supporting informant. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. ChatGPT was utilized as the primary AI tool to provide information, generate alternative responses, and stimulate discussion of contextual civic issues. The findings indicate that ChatGPT transformed learning activities from teacher-centered information reception into information exploration, comparison, group discussion, presentation, and reflection. Six prominent dimensions of civic character were identified: responsibility, cooperation, tolerance, critical thinking, discipline, and digital ethics. These characteristics were demonstrated through task completion, collaborative work, respect for different opinions, verification of AI-generated information, adherence to AI-use guidelines, and avoidance of directly copying AI-generated responses. The findings further demonstrate that character development was not produced by AI alone but emerged through structured pedagogical activities and continuous teacher guidance. The study concludes that the AI–teacher–student model provides a more appropriate framework for integrating ChatGPT into PPKn learning than independent AI use. Future research should examine broader samples and employ quantitative or mixed-method approaches to measure changes in civic character more systematically.]]>
