<![CDATA[International remittances represent an important component of migrant workers’ financial management and family economic resilience. However, limited financial literacy, transaction costs, exchange-rate uncertainty, administrative complexity, payment delays, data security risks, and insufficient understanding of consumer rights may prevent migrant workers from using formal remittance services optimally. This community service activity aimed to strengthen conceptual understanding of secure, transparent, accessible, and accountable digital remittances, particularly within the Indonesia–Japan migrant worker ecosystem. The activity was conducted through participatory attendance at the Ria Kyodai Connect 2026 workshop, participant observation, interactive discussion, document review, activity documentation, academic reflection, and the formulation of recommendations. The workshop was held on 9 July 2026 at the Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta and involved representatives of the Ministry of Manpower, banks, cooperatives, approximately 20 sending organizations, training institutions, and remittance-service partners. The activity produced a structured mapping of digital remittance mechanisms, the promoter scheme, electronic Know Your Customer procedures, Japanese bank-account arrangements, auto-debit services, and cross-border payment monitoring. The findings also highlighted the need to balance operational efficiency with transparent fees and exchange rates, explicit consent, personal-data protection, freedom to choose financial services, transaction notification, cancellation rights, and accessible complaint mechanisms. Academically, the workshop provided relevant material on financial management education, risk management, digital service marketing, consumer protection, and further community-based financial literacy programmes for Indonesian migrant workers.]]>
