Palmyra palm waste and agricultural residues such as rice husks are biomass resources with potential for conversion into useful and economically valuable products. However, the utilization of these wastes by the Taipamalisi Farmer Group in Parapa Hamlet, Pakkabba Village, Galesong Utara District, Takalar Regency, remains suboptimal. Prior to the implementation of the program, the partners had limited knowledge and skills in product diversification, processing technology, product packaging, business management, and digital marketing. This community engagement program aimed to improve the partners’ knowledge and skills in processing palmyra palm waste and rice husks through the application of integrated pyrolysis technology, while also strengthening their capacity in product packaging and digital marketing. The program was implemented through socialization and focus group discussions, training, technology application, hands-on product processing, mentoring, evaluation, and digital marketing development. The products developed included charcoal, charcoal briquettes, liquid smoke, organic fertilizer, and other biomass-based products. The application of integrated pyrolysis technology was directed toward converting biomass into products with higher added value while reducing agricultural waste that had previously been underutilized. Mentoring was also provided to improve product packaging through the use of more informative and attractive packaging. This program is expected to strengthen the production capacity and independence of the farmer group in developing sustainable businesses based on the utilization of local biomass resources.
