Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of humanistic values in the character Nezha in the film Ne Zha (2019) through stylistic studies and Abraham Maslow’s Humanistic Psychology. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data sources consisting of Nezha’s speech and actions that reflect humanistic values. Data were collected through listening and note-taking techniques and analyzed using an interactive analysis model involving data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Stylistic analysis examines diction, assertion style, antithesis, and emotional expressions, while psychological analysis applies Maslow’s concepts of human needs. The findings reveal that Nezha’s humanistic values develop gradually through the fulfillment of psychological needs, beginning with the need for social acceptance and belonging toward self-actualization. Initially, Nezha experiences rejection, anger, and difficulty forming relationships. Through his friendship with Ao Bing, he develops empathy, caring attitudes, social responsibility, altruism, self-control, and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. The study concludes that stylistic elements strengthen the representation of humanistic values, including concern for others, social responsibility, sacrifice, and self-actualization, in accordance with Maslow’s Humanistic Psychology.
