<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video-based learning media on the ability to recognize numbers and perform addition among first-grade students at SD Negeri 55 Pekanbaru. The novelty of this study lies in combining an analysis of the effectiveness of animated video media specifically on the ability to recognize numbers and perform addition in first-grade elementary school students, using a pre-experimental approach based on the N-gain test, which has not been widely applied in this context. This study employed a quantitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. The research population consisted of 17 first-grade students at SD Negeri 55 Pekanbaru in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through tests and documentation, while data analysis used normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-gain tests with the assistance of SPSS version 22. The results showed that the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed (p > 0.05). The paired sample t-test yielded a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with t = -14.671 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating an average increase of 32.588 points. The N-gain analysis produced an average score of 0.7199, categorized as high, indicating that animated video-based learning media has a high level of effectiveness in improving students' ability to recognize numbers and perform addition. These findings demonstrate that animated video learning media has a significant and effective influence on improving basic mathematics skills among first-grade students at SD Negeri 55 Pekanbaru, and can therefore serve as a reference for teachers in selecting innovative learning media for lower-grade classrooms.]]>
