This study aims to analyze the concept of active learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a pedagogical perspective for strengthening students’ religious literacy in the digital era. The method employed is a library research approach by examining various scholarly sources, including books, journal articles, and relevant previous studies. The findings indicate that active learning is an instructional approach that positions students as active participants through critical thinking, discussion, reflection, and problem-solving activities. In the context of PAI, this approach enhances students’ religious literacy not only in cognitive aspects but also in affective and practical dimensions, particularly in responding to religious phenomena in digital spaces. The integration of Islamic values with digital literacy is essential in fostering moderate, wise, and contextual religious attitudes. Furthermore, the teacher’s role as a facilitator is crucial in designing interactive and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, active learning holds strong pedagogical relevance in addressing the challenges of the digital era, especially in developing comprehensive and sustainable religious literacy among students.
