<![CDATA[The rise of social media has fundamentally transformed the landscape of Islamic preaching and the practice of Qur’anic interpretation in the contemporary public sphere. Islamic preaching no longer takes place within controlled, authoritative spaces, but operates within a digital ecosystem characterised by algorithmic logic, rapid distribution, and competition for attention. This article aims to analyse the phenomenon of Qur’anic da’wah on social media by highlighting the dynamics of popular exegesis, the shift in religious authority, and the accompanying ethical and epistemological implications. Through a qualitative approach based on literature review and conceptual analysis, this study situates digital da’wah practices within the framework of Qur’anic exegesis and public ethics. The findings indicate that social media plays a dual role: on the one hand, it broadens public access to Qur’anic messages; on the other, it risks reducing the complexity of revelatory meaning to simplistic, fragmentary, and often polemical narratives. The absence of an adequate ethical framework for exegesis renders popular exegesis vulnerable to the trivialisation of meaning and social polarisation. This article emphasises the importance of reconstructing Qur’anic da’wah ethics grounded in the maq??id al-shar?‘ah, epistemological responsibility, and social consciousness, so that social media does not merely serve as a space for religious expression, but also as a vehicle for fostering an inclusive, reflective, and civilised religious consciousness.]]>
