This community engagement program aimed to improve students’ competence in managing academic references and understanding the importance of originality in scholarly writing through Zotero and Turnitin. The program involved students from the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK), UIN Salatiga. It employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The activities included training and hands-on practice in using Zotero to manage references, generate citations, and create bibliographies automatically, as well as using Turnitin to check similarity levels and revise manuscripts in accordance with academic writing standards. The results showed improved student skills in reference management, Turnitin use, and understanding of academic originality. The program also encouraged greater independence in preparing scholarly work. Regular mentoring programs may serve as an effective model for strengthening students’ academic writing skills and promoting a culture of academic integrity in higher education.
