The advancement of digital technology has given students broad internet access, yet not all of it is used for academic purposes. Internet use for non-academic activities during lectures is known as cyberloafing, which in this study is related to boredom proneness, defined as an individual's tendency to easily experience boredom. This study aims to determine the relationship between boredom proneness and cyberloafing behavior among university students in Jambi City. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 197 active undergraduate students in Jambi City aged 18–25 years, selected using an accidental sampling technique, with the criterion of using digital devices in daily lecture activities. Data were collected using two instruments, namely the Boredom Proneness Scale Short-Form (BPS-SF) adapted by Saloom and Veriantari (2021) and the Cyberloafing Scale by Simanjuntak et al. (2019), and were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between boredom proneness and cyberloafing (r = 0.466; p < 0.001), with a moderate strength of relationship. These findings indicate that the higher students' tendency to experience boredom, the higher their tendency to engage in cyberloafing behavior during lectures.
