<![CDATA[The implantation of rest hours must be stirictly implemented to maintain the physical fitness of the ship’s crew to improve performance in carrying out maritime guard duty. This research was carried out to understand the implementation of rest hour and how to maintain the fitness of ship crew to improve performance while on guard duty. In this research the author used qualitative desciptive research methods. Data was obtained directly through interviews and observations and then documented as strong evidence. The data is then presented and analysed to draw conclusions. Based on the research results obtained by the author while carrying out research at KMP. Batumandi regarding the implementation of rest hours to increase the effectiveness of each ship’s crew in carrying out guard duty has complied with procedures, however there are several deviations that are not appropriate in terms of implementing rest hours. The crew already knows the consequences of negligence in carrying out guard duties.]]>
