Land Surface Temperature (LST) is widely utilized in current studies, particularly as an initial survey tool to assess geothermal activity in locations suspected to have geothermal sources. The research method involves geometric correction of Sentinel-3 imagery and conversion of temperature units from Fahrenheit (F) to Celsius (C) to ensure accuracy in temperature measurement. Image data processing from Sentinel-3, including thermal band analysis, is carried out to generate land surface temperature values. The field-measured temperatures are then compared to the land surface temperature data obtained through processing. The temperatures in the location, ranging from 23°C to 35°C, fall within the minimum geothermal temperature range, indicating potential geothermal activity. However, the LST values from the image data exhibit some differences compared to the on-site measurements. These discrepancies are categorized into classes I (23.7 – 24°C), II (24 – 24.3°C), and III (24.3 – 24.8°C), marked by red areas in the LST values. These discrepancies are attributed to various factors during image recording and processing, such as atmospheric interference and sensor calibration.

This study aims to analyze the readiness of the ship's crew in launching and recov- ering lifeboats and the factors that influence it on KMP Labitra Karina. The readiness of the crew in operating lifeboats is very important in dealing with emergencies at sea, especially when evacuating passengers and crew. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the crew's readiness in launching and recovering lifeboats on the KMP Labitra Karina was established but not yet optimal.

This study aims to analyze and optimize the use of SMCP (Standard Marine Communication Phrases) to support communication between vessels and with the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) on KMP Portlink III. The study used a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation during sea practice. The results indicate that the implementation of SMCP on board is not yet fully optimal. There is still the use of general English, a lack of consistency in standard phrase structures, and minimal ongoing evaluation and training. Inhibiting factors include Man, Method, Machine, Material, Measurement, and Mother Nature, such as non-standard communication habits, limited proficiency in maritime English, and lack of supervision during watch duty. This impact has the potential to lead to miscommunication, especially when ships enter VTS areas with heavy traffic. Recommended optimization efforts include increasing knowledge accompanied by routine SMCP training, briefings before and after watch shifts, and active supervision from leaders and senior officers. Regarding inhibiting factors beyond human control, such as lighting short circuits caused by bad weather, port authorities or shore officials must be more prepared and responsive in improving the quality and quantity of lighting units. With consistent SMCP implementation in accordance with IMO standards, navigational communications can be clearer, more structured, and more effective, thereby enhancing navigational safety.

The implantation of rest hours must be stirictly implemented to maintain the physical fitness of the ship’s crew to improve performance in carrying out maritime guard duty. This research was carried out to understand the implementation of rest hour and how to maintain the fitness of ship crew to improve performance while on guard duty. In this research the author used qualitative desciptive research methods. Data was obtained directly through interviews and observations and then documented as strong evidence. The data is then presented and analysed to draw conclusions. Based on the research results obtained by the author while carrying out research at KMP. Batumandi regarding the implementation of rest hours to increase the effectiveness of each ship’s crew in carrying out guard duty has complied with procedures, however there are several deviations that are not appropriate in terms of implementing rest hours. The crew already knows the consequences of negligence in carrying out guard duties.
