This initiative in Sumedang Regency focuses on enhancing human resource quality through English language instruction. Conducted by Universitas Terbuka, the community service project aims to empower rural residents by bringing together participants ranging from children to adults. English lessons are delivered using a combination of online and offline methods—an approach known as blended learning. Evaluations indicate improved English proficiency among the community, particularly in comprehension, speaking, and constructing basic sentences. Furthermore, the project has boosted participants' confidence in speaking English in public settings, such as when guiding tourists around the village. The initiative encourages the use of technology and motivates participants to learn the language.Overall, this community service activity demonstrates that English language learning combined with the use of technology can serve as a strategy for community empowerment—enhancing human resource quality, communication skills, and readiness for tourism development, while fostering the motivation to continuously develop English language competence.
