<![CDATA[AbstrakSektor kepelabuhanan merupakan lingkungan kerja berisiko sangat tinggi (high-risk operational environment) yang menuntut calon profesional maritim memiliki literasi dan budaya Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) yang unggul. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengukur efektivitas program Orientasi Studi Lapangan (OSL) berbasis experiential learning dalam meningkatkan kompetensi serta kesadaran keselamatan kerja Taruna Program Studi S1 Transportasi STIMARYO. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 47 Taruna/i sebagai peserta dan manajemen HSSE PT Krakatau International Port (KIP) sebagai mitra sasaran.. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan siklus Experiential Learning Kolb yang terintegrasi dengan empat tahapan: Pre-assessment, Safety Induction & Observasi Lapangan Terstruktur (dermaga, fasilitas bongkar muat, sistem PTW, dan ISPS Code), Diskusi Praktisi, serta Post-assessment. Evaluasi kuantitatif dilakukan melalui uji beda dan analisis nilai Normalized Gain (N-Gain).. Hasil PkM menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada skor rerata pemahaman HSSE Taruna dari 62,40 (kategori Cukup) menjadi 88,75 (kategori Sangat Baik) dengan nilai N-Gain rata-rata sebesar 0,70 (kategori Efektivitas Tinggi). Taruna secara nyata mampu melakukan identifikasi bahaya (HIRARC sederhana), memahami prosedur Permit to Work (PTW), pengawasan APD, hingga prosedur tanggap darurat tumpahan (spill control). Kegiatan PkM ini terbukti efektif menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori akademik dan realitas K3 di industri kepelabuhanan modern. Kata kunci: keselamatan pelabuhan; HSSE; budaya kerja aman. Abstract Field Study Orientation (OSL) is an academic activity designed to enhance cadets’ practical understanding of the operational dynamics of the maritime sector, which is characterized by high-risk environments, particularly within port operations. This activity aims to analyze the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) practices as part of efforts to improve occupational safety. The OSL was conducted at PT Krakatau International Port (KIP), involving 47 cadets from the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Transportation at STIMARYO, with the target partners being the company’s HSSE management and staff. The implementation methods included field observations, structured interviews with management and HSSE personnel, and documentation review related to safety policies and their implementation. This approach enabled participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of safety policies, safe working procedures, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment inspection, and risk control systems applied in the port environment. The results indicate that PT Krakatau International Port demonstrates a strong commitment to occupational safety through the implementation of SMK3, the ISPS Code, continuous training programs, safety induction, permit-to-work systems, heavy equipment inspections, spill control measures, and incident reporting systems. Participants showed an increased understanding of the importance of safety culture and the key components of HSSE systems. However, several challenges remain, including extreme weather conditions, operational coordination in the field, worker compliance, and the potential for human error. This activity makes a significant contribution to preparing participants for professional careers with strong competencies and high safety awareness.
