Narratives of Female Legislators in Bekasi City Regarding Advocacy for Child Sexual Harassment Cases in Schools: A Case Study-Based Thematic Analysis

This study aims to explore how female legislators in Bekasi City narrate their experiences in advocating for cases of child sexual abuse in schools. The increasing number of cases indicates serious governance issues in child protection. However, the political and institutional experiences of female legislators remain underexplored. This study employs a qualitative approach with a narrative inquiry case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with female legislators of Bekasi City DPRD. The data were analyzed using thematic narrative analysis. The findings show that female legislators construct advocacy through empathetic politics, combining personal experiences, institutional pressures, and local power dynamics. They act not only as formal policymakers but also as moral agents in driving policy change.
