Abstract

Adolescence is a period of rapid growth that requires attention to nutritional status and psychosocial factors. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between bullying, stress level, nutritional knowledge, and Body Mass Index (BMI) among adolescents at SMPN 2 Palu. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 776 students aged 12–15 years, with 99 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Bullying was measured using the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument (APRI), stress level using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), nutritional knowledge using a nutrition knowledge questionnaire, and BMI was determined from body weight and height measurements. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level. Most respondents were 13 years old, female, and in grade VII. The majority had moderate stress levels, moderate nutritional knowledge, low bullying levels, and normal BMI. There was no significant relationship between bullying and BMI (p=0.408) or between stress level and BMI (p=0.168). However, there was a significant relationship between nutritional knowledge and BMI (p=0.027). Nutritional knowledge was associated with adolescent BMI, whereas bullying and stress level were not significantly associated with BMI in this study.
