This study aims to evaluate innovations and instructional design in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the junior high school level, with a case study at SMP Islam HASMI. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this research examines various PAI learning innovations implemented in schools across Indonesia based on articles published in reputable and SINTA-indexed journals from 2010 to 2020. The analysis results show that PAI learning innovations encompass four main dimensions: the development of character-based curricula, the implementation of innovative learning methods (such as Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning), the integration of digital technology, and the development of comprehensive evaluation systems. This study recommends that SMP Islam HASMI adopt a holistic innovation approach, effectively integrate technology, and develop an evaluation model capable of assessing not only cognitive aspects but also students’ affective and psychomotor domains
