This study discusses the position of digital forensics as evidence in law enforcement of copyright infringement crimes in the cyber realm. The formulation of the research problem is: (1) What is the role of digital forensics in the criminal evidence system in Indonesia? (2) What are the legal challenges in utilizing digital forensics to uncover copyright infringement on the Internet? and (3) How effective is digital forensics in supporting the legal evidence process for copyright crimes committed online? This study uses a normative juridical research type with a descriptive-analytical nature, through a literature study of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The analysis is carried out using a statutory approach and a conceptual approach to examine relevant regulations, doctrines, and legal theories. The results of the study indicate that digital forensics has an important role in proving copyright infringement, despite legal challenges related to its validity, procedures, and application. This study provides a normative overview of the position of digital forensics and its contribution to law enforcement in the digital era.
