This study aims to analyze the difficulties experienced by third-grade students in reading English texts at MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan Karangrejo Cluring and to identify the factors causing these difficulties. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was examined using technique/method triangulation. The results showed that students experienced several difficulties in reading English texts, including limited ability to recognize vowel and consonant sounds, omitting letters when reading difficult vocabulary or words, reading haltingly or spelling words individually, and experiencing difficulties in Pronunciation. The factors causing these difficulties consisted of internal and external factors. Internal factors included students' lack of interest, difficulties in recognizing English letter sounds, difficulties in Pronunciation, and gadget use. Meanwhile, external factors included the family environment and social environment, particularly peers, which influenced students' reading abilities. These findings indicate that students need appropriate assistance and learning strategies to improve their English reading skills, particularly in letter recognition, vocabulary reading fluency, and Pronunciation.
