<![CDATA[This study was motivated by students’ low mathematical problem-solving ability, which was attributed to the continued dominance of conventional teaching practices that limited students’ active engagement in understanding and solving mathematical problems. In addition, the limited use of student worksheets reduced opportunities for students to practice solving problems systematically. These conditions were identified through a preliminary study conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli, which revealed that students experienced difficulties in solving mathematical problem-solving tasks. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of the MURDER cooperative learning model assisted by student worksheets on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population comprised all eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli, with a total sample of 64 students. The sample consisted of 32 students in Class VIII-A as the control group and 32 students in Class VIII-B as the experimental group. Data were collected using a mathematical problem-solving ability test in the form of open-ended questions. Hypothesis testing at the 5% significance level yielded a calculated t-value of 9.365, which was greater than the critical t-value of 1.671. Thus, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. These findings indicate that the MURDER cooperative learning model assisted by student worksheets has a significant effect on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli.]]>
