<![CDATA[Adolescents living with single parents may encounter challenges associated with changes in family structure, potentially affecting their capacity to adapt to stressful and demanding circumstances. Previous studies have indicated positive associations between self-compassion, peer social support, and resilience, although the consistency of these relationships remains uncertain. This study aimed to examine self-compassion and peer social support as predictors of resilience among adolescents with single parents in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 305 adolescents aged 15–18 years who were recruited using convenience sampling. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table based on the estimated population size. Data were collected using validated scales assessing resilience, self-compassion, and peer social support. The instruments demonstrated acceptable goodness-of-fit indices and high internal consistency, with reliability coefficients of α = .939 for resilience, α = .897 for self-compassion, and α = .818 for peer social support. Multiple linear regression was employed to examine the predictive relationships. The findings showed that self-compassion significantly and positively predicted resilience (β = .558, t = 13.095, p < .001), while peer social support also significantly and positively predicted resilience (β = .337, t = 7.905, p < .001). The overall regression model was significant (F = 125.668, p < .001) and explained 45.4% of the variance in resilience (R² = .454). Self-compassion contributed 32.6%, whereas peer social support contributed 12.8%. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening self-compassion and supportive peer relationships to promote resilience among adolescents with single parents.]]>
