<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital navigation equipment and publications and identify efforts to improve navigation effectiveness on MV. Lodestar Adventure. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. The research subjects consisted of the Captain, Chief Officer, Third Officer, and Apprentice Officer, selected through purposive sampling based on their direct involvement in operating digital navigation systems. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review, while data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital navigation systems, including the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Identification System (AIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Radar, and Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC), has improved navigation effectiveness. However, several challenges remain, such as delayed ENC updates, suboptimal safety parameter settings, differences in crew competency in utilizing advanced ECDIS features, and overreliance on digital systems without adequate visual verification. Efforts to improve navigation effectiveness include regular ENC updates, continuous crew training and briefings, strengthened coordination among watch officers, and the application of cross-checking between digital navigation systems and visual observation. Therefore, effective navigation depends not only on advanced technology but also on competent human resources, up-to-date navigation data, and consistent implementation of safety procedures.]]>
