The purpose of this study was to determine the level of conceptual understanding and learning outcomes of students using the Novick learning model on global warming material. This study was categorized as an experimental study, with a Nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA SMAN 8 Takalar consisting of 2 classes and a total of 32 students. The results of the descriptive study showed that the average value of student learning outcomes in the control class post-test was 76.25 which was in the high category while the experimental class post-test value was 90 which was in the very high category. The results of the hypothesis testing obtained a Mann Whitney (U) value by calculation = 14,000. The Zcount value = 4.3 and the Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.00. The Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) value was accepted. The results of the descriptive study showed that the average value of students' conceptual understanding in the post-test of the control class was 31.88, which is in the low category, while the post-test value of the experimental class was 58.13, which is in the medium category. By testing the hypothesis, the calculated Mann Whitney (U) value was obtained = 1.500. The calculated Z value = 5.4 and the Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.00. The Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) value was accepted. This shows that there is a difference in the use of the Novick Learning Model on learning outcomes and conceptual understanding between the control and experimental classes. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of physics learning using the Novick Model has a significant effect on learning outcomes and conceptual understanding so that it can be applied to subsequent teaching activities
