Learning basic sentence structure in elementary school still faces challenges because students experience difficulties in identifying and arranging sentence elements correctly. The learning process tends to be teacher-centered and is not yet supported by interactive media that facilitate students’ concrete thinking development. This research purposes to develop a Concept Sentence-based Pop Up Book for teaching basic sentence structure to third-grade elementary school students and to determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The ADDIE paradigm, which comprises the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, was used in the research and development (R&D) process. Twenty-eight third-graders served as the study's subjects. Information was gathered using expert validation questionnaires, practitioner (teacher) assessment questionnaires, observation sheets, and learning outcome tests. The findings demonstrated that the developed media was categorized as very valid based on material, media, and language expert validation. The practicality level was categorized as very practical based on practitioner assessment. The effectiveness test using One Sample t-Test indicated that the average post-test score significantly exceeded the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). Therefore, the Concept Sentence-based Pop Up Book contributes as an innovative and effective instructional media to improve students’ understanding of basic sentence structure in elementary school.
