Abstract

Background: RSUP Dr. Sardjito implemented Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS)/ Radiology Information System (RIS) in 2016, achieving a filmless radiology service by July 2020. However, evaluations of this implementation among doctors using a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) variant have not been conducted. Objective: This research aimed to evaluate PACS/RIS implementation among doctors at RSUP Dr. Sardjito based on perception (usefulness, ease of use, work efficiency) and acceptance levels. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study involved 294 randomly selected physician respondents across 13 clinical departments. Data were gathered using a validated and reliable online questionnaire. Results: The majority of respondents (>60%) demonstrated high perception and acceptance scores (60.2% response rate). Age, specialization, length of service at the hospital, career duration, and training history were significantly associated with system perception and acceptance (P<0.05). Work efficiency exhibited the strongest positive correlation with acceptance (r=0.831), followed by perceived ease of use (r=0.703) and perceived usefulness (r=0.632).Conclusion:  The PACS/RIS implementation has been well-executed and is influenced by doctors' professional characteristics. Perceived work efficiency stands as the variable with the strongest positive correlation to acceptance levels.
