Abstract

Quality sleep plays a crucial role in supporting infant growth and development, particularly during the transitional period between 6 and 12 months of age. Infant massage is a non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to improve infant sleep quality. This study aimed to determine the effect of infant massage on the sleep quality of infants aged 6-12 months in the Motoboi Kecil Community Health Center (Puskesmas). This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretestposttest approach. Thirty infants were selected using a total sampling technique for the study sample. Infant sleep quality was measured before and after the infant massage intervention using the Sleep Quality Index. The results showed an improvement in infant sleep quality after infant massage, characterized by longer sleep duration, reduced frequency of nighttime awakenings, and calmer infants. The conclusion of this study, based on the Wilcoxon test result (p=0.001), indicates that infant massage improves sleep quality in infants aged 6–12 months and can serve as a promotive and preventive measure in infant healthcare services.
