<![CDATA[The beauty industry’s demand for graduates with adequate soft skills and career maturity has made Industrial Field Practice (PLI) an important means for students to gain direct work experience. However, the effects of PLI on these two aspects have not been extensively demonstrated through empirical and measurable evidence. This study aimed to analyze the effects of PLI on the soft skills and career maturity of students from the 2022 cohort of the Cosmetology and Beauty Study Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto survey design and involved 82 respondents selected through total sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS. The results showed that PLI had positive and significant effects on students’ soft skills (β = 0.757; p < 0.001) and career maturity (β = 0.737; p < 0.001). PLI explained 57.3% of the variance in students’ soft skills and 54.3% of the variance in their career maturity. These findings confirm that PLI plays an important role in developing students’ soft skills and career maturity. The results provide the study program with empirical evidence regarding the importance of strengthening PLI implementation to prepare students to enter the workforce in the beauty industry.]]>
