Abstract

Food safety is important for improving the quality and competitiveness of locally based food products while supporting healthy and sustainable community development. Dangiang Village has potential food products, particularly banana sale, but still faces challenges in implementing food safety practices and fulfilling business legality requirements. This activity aimed to analyze the implementation of the Food Safety Facilitator (FKP) and Food Safety Cadre (KKP) programs in strengthening MSME capacity, promoting a food safety culture within the community, and supporting the development of village flagship products. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through observation, interviews, data collection, gap assessment, documentation, and activity evaluation. The FKP program assisted 9 food businesses and facilitated 9 Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and 9 Certificates of Production for Processed Food by Household Industry (SPP-IRT), while the KKP program established 10 cadres and provided food safety education to PKK members, schools, PAUD, and the community through a door-to-door approach. The results indicate that the program contributed to improving the readiness of food businesses to fulfill food safety and business legality requirements and strengthening food safety education within the community. The activities supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through increased food safety awareness, strengthened MSME capacity, business legality facilitation, and the implementation of safer food production practices. The program also supported the development of banana sale as a flagship product of Dangiang Village with potential to increase the economic value of local products
