This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the STEAM approach in increasing the learning activity of third-grade students in the visual arts learning of drawing shapes. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 15 third-grade students of SDN 4 Limboto. Data collection techniques were observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study was quantitative analysis. Based on the results of the classroom action research that has been carried out in two cycles in third-grade students of SDN 4 Limboto, it can be concluded that the implementation of the STEAM approach can increase student learning activity in drawing shapes. The increase in student learning activity can be seen from the results of observations in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, students who were included in the active category were 4 people (26.67%), while 11 people (73.33%) were still in the inactive category. After the STEAM approach was implemented in Cycle I, the number of active students increased to 8 people (53.33%), while inactive students were 7 people (46.67%). Furthermore, in Cycle II, student learning activity increased to 13 people (86.66%) and inactive students decreased to 2 people (13.33%).
