<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the role of parents in developing the expressive and receptive language abilities of young children through everyday activities. Expressive language refers to children’s ability to express thoughts, feelings, and desires verbally and nonverbally, while receptive language concerns their ability to understand stories, instructions, and rules. This study employed a qualitative approach using a collective case study design. The participants were four parents of young children aged 3–6 years, selected purposively based on their relevance to the research focus. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with the assistance of NVivo 15. The findings indicate that parental roles in developing children’s expressive and receptive language encompass six main aspects: assistance, communication, opportunities, supervision, motivation, and guidance. Assistance was provided through play, book reading, and other daily activities. Communication was established through two-way conversations, discussions of children’s experiences, and responsive interactions. Parents also provided opportunities for children to express themselves, monitored gadget use and language use, provided verbal reinforcement, and guided children in pronunciation and appropriate language use according to context. These findings demonstrate that children’s language stimulation occurs not only through formal learning but also through consistent, responsive, and meaningful parental involvement in everyday life.
