<![CDATA[Gastritis is a common gastric disorder among adolescents, often caused by irregular eating habits and stress. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Pringsewu Regency in 2023, gastritis ranked as the fourth most prevalent disease, with 15,687 reported cases. This condition encourages adolescents to practice self-medication; however, inadequate knowledge may lead to inappropriate self-medication behavior. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and self-medication behavior for gastritis among students of Muhammadiyah 1 Pringsewu Vocational High School. This quantitative analytical study employed a cross-sectional design involving 214 respondents. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most respondents had a good level of knowledge and good self-medication behavior. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.008 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between knowledge level and self-medication behavior for gastritis. The findings suggest that the higher an individual's level of knowledge, the better their self-medication behavior. In conclusion, knowledge level is significantly associated with self-medication behavior for gastritis. Therefore, improving health education is essential to ensure that students can practice self-medication appropriately, safely, and rationally.]]>
