<![CDATA[This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the understanding and practical skills of teachers and students at SMK Pelayaran Padang regarding the application of HSSEC water treatment as a maritime engineering learning medium that supports sustainable environmental management. The activity was conducted on August 5th, 2026, at the Merchant Marine Polytechnic of West Sumatra through a series of educational sessions, socialization, demonstrations of the water treatment installation, interactive discussions, and participant response evaluation. The materials covered the concepts, functions, benefits, and principles of water treatment, the application of environmentally friendly technologies, and their relevance to the Humanist, Smart, Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Campus (HSSEC) principles and Net Zero Emission. Evaluation was conducted using response questionnaires administered to teachers and students to assess the relevance, understanding, perceived benefits, applicability, and acceptance of the program. The results showed that the teachers’ responses reached an average of 100% across all indicators, indicating that the activity was highly relevant to supporting learning needs, strengthening competencies, and utilizing the Manual Book as supplementary teaching material. Meanwhile, the students’ responses achieved an average of 98.83%, indicating increased understanding, interest, environmental awareness, and motivation to learn about water treatment and environmentally friendly technologies. The activity also generated recommendations for further development, including regular water quality monitoring, testing of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters, improvement of safety aspects, and further investigation into solar energy integration.
