This study aims to analyze the difficulty level of the final semester exam items for the Arabic language subject at MTs Darussalam Teluk Meranti Riau for the 2024/ 2025 academic year, as well as to identify the factors causing student difficulties. A descriptive quantitative method was employed. Data were collected through the documentation of student answer sheets and perception questionnaires. The analysis revealed that of the 40 exam items, 20 items (50%) were categorized as difficult, 16 items (40%) as moderate, and 4 items (10%) as easy. The primary factors contributing to student difficulties included a lack of vocabolary mastery (50%) and excessively long reading texts (40,63%). These findings regarding the difficulty level are specific to the context and abilities of the students at MTs Darussalam Teluk Meranti. They do not reflect the universal difficulty of the questions in other schools, given the differences in students cignitive backgrounds and sociographic conditions in each educational unit. In conclusion, this evaluation instrument requires and adjusment of proportions to better align with the characteristics of the learners at the school.
