<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the forms, functions, and factors contributing to code-switching and code-mixing in the film Ambyar Mak Byar by Puguh P. S. Admaja. This study employs a sociolinguistic approach. The methodology used in this study is qualitative. Data collection was conducted by watching the film, transcribing the speech, identifying, and grouping the data based on the research objectives. Data analysis includes data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions (verification). The results of this study indicate that the use of code-switching and code-mixing in the film Ambyar Mak Byar follows a systematic pattern while reflecting the linguistic reality of a bilingual community. This study found that code-switching occurs predominantly in the form of inward code-switching. The function of code-switching is frequently observed as a means of showing respect to the interlocutor. The primary factors contributing to code-switching are found in the variety and register of speech. Meanwhile, code-mixing tends to appear in the form of mixed code-mixing. The function of code-mixing was frequently observed to emphasize the conversation. The factors causing code-mixing were largely found in the use of more popular terms. This study reveals that there is still a disregard for the rules of proper and correct Indonesian language usage in communication practices within a film, which is, after all, an educational medium.]]>
