<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the meaning of quality family time, its implementation, and its association with children’s social-emotional development in families living in urban areas. This qualitative study employed a case study method conducted in Mujur Village, East Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia, involving four families with young children. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that quality family time is understood not in terms of the amount of time spent together, but in terms of the quality of parental involvement, attention, communication, and emotional connection with children. Its implementation was reflected in simple daily routines, including family meals, learning assistance, playing, spiritual activities, and bedtime conversations. The findings also indicate an association between quality family time and children’s social-emotional development, particularly in communication openness, emotional regulation, empathy, cooperation, and self-confidence. The novelty of this study lies in describing quality family time as a relational practice that can be optimized through everyday family routines within the context of families experiencing time constraints. This study provides an understanding that the quality of interaction is more important than the duration of togetherness in supporting children’s social-emotional development.]]>
