<![CDATA[This study aims to investigate the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ ability to write descriptive texts. The research employed a quantitative approach and was conducted at SMA Swasta Daerah Sei Bejangkar with a focus on Grade X students. The study used an experimental design. The population consisted of all Grade X students at the school, and the sample included 19 students in the experimental group (Class X-2) and 21 students in the control group (Class X-1). The primary instrument for data collection was a writing test. The data were analyzed using the t-test formula.The results revealed that the mean score of the experimental group was 80.5, while the control group had an average score of 71.9. The t-test analysis showed that the calculated t-score (tₒ = 3.6) was greater than the critical t-value (tₜ = 2.03) at a 0.05 significance level. This indicates a significant difference in writing performance between the two groups. The findings suggest that the Problem-Based Learning model has a significant positive effect on students' descriptive writing skills. In conclusion, the PBL strategy is more effective than conventional teaching methods for enhancing writing skills.]]>
